Hello! I’m Erica

MS, LPC, LMFT, RPT

I work primarily with children ages birth to adolescence and specialize in working with children under the age of 5 alongside their caregivers. In addition to this, I work with women struggling with perinatal mental health issues, this includes pregnancy, prenatal, postnatal, and postpartum. I have worked with children and families most of my adult life. For seven years prior to joining the Fresh Roots team, I did counseling at a local Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC). During my time at the CAC, I worked with children and families whose lives had been impacted by abuse, neglect, or some other form of trauma. The area of perinatal mental health, specifically, is an area I started working with shortly after I began working at Fresh Roots in 2020 and I received specialized training in 2021. As a mom, I am realizing more and more that raising children is hard and you cannot do it alone. I have also learned how challenging the pregnancy and postpartum season of life can be, especially if you don’t have the necessary support or have other stress factors. I’m thankful to have a team of Jesus, my husband and sometimes other friends and family for support. I have become passionate about helping women through these seasons of their lives as they undergo this wonderful but at times extremely challenging transition into motherhood or into multiple children. I believe therapy is a journey in which Jesus is the true healer and sometimes he chooses to work through me. It has been a joy to have the privilege of coming alongside caregivers as they walk with their children towards healing, and it would be an honor to come alongside you in your own journey as well.
