John Skelly - Counselor

Hello! I’m John

MS, LPC-S, AADC

My therapy style is encouraging and hope-filled. I like to focus on solutions and encouragement. That said, I will tell you the truth in the most loving way that I can. I consider myself a partner to my clients, working with them rather than for them. I come alongside and help them to see what they might be able to change, and I encourage that change. Communication and understanding is key in family relationships. Misunderstanding is often the biggest pitfall. I address issues from the past with a focus on the future filled with hope, moving toward healing and wholeness.

My Education & Certification

  • AADC from Arkansas Substance Abuse Board
  • Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from John Brown University
  • Adjunct Professor for John Brown University

“We are products of our past, but we don’t have to be prisoners of it.”

~ Rick Warren

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

~ Romand 5:3-5
